The remains of ancient La Soukra do not contain any relics or sculptures but old Arabic and foreign books which are part of the historian Hassan Hosni Abdelwaheb’s bibliography for his book « Summary of Tunisia’s history » mention the roman archways used to transport water from Zaghouan to Carthage. These archways had been cut off by Hassen Ibn Nooman during the Islamic conquest at the end of the 7th century when he besieged the Phoenician capital. The hafside caliph « El Mostansser Billah El Hafsi » restored the archways between 1249 and 1277.
